Pebley: Still lots of birds in fields around Pebley Inn.Mixed flock of c200 Finches/Buntings.Mostly Chaffinch, Yellowhammers and Linnets.25 Reed Buntings at least 12 Corn Buntings and a few Bramblings.Also a separate flock of c80 Skylarks.(P.Wragg)

Rawmarsh: 2 Little Owls calling from allotments, adjacent to Rosehill Park (D.Stables)

Woodhouse: 62 Waxwings at Newton Croft  at 14.40 (R.Twigg)

Wednesday 21 January

Thrybergh CP:  Pink-footed Geese - 154 at 0945, c120 at 0950, both skeins (NW). Also 2 brambling (M&F). Further skeins over Brecks area - 1015 (heard but not seen) and 100+ at 1035 - again (NW). (M.Smethurst)
Moscar: Large Westerly Pink Footed Goose movement 10:00 - 11:15: c1000 in 8 skeins over Damflask and Moscar, Roy Frost counted an impressive  3270 in 16 skeins W over Moscar. Also male Black Grouse on moor opposite Windy Corner (A.Deighton).  Further skeins seen flying over Neepsend.

Hackenthorpe: At least 40 Waxwings in trees at the corner of Birley Spa Lane and Main Street at 14.40 (K.Bower)
Sheffield: 25 waxwings outside 213 Cemetery Road (M.Timms)

Sunday 18 January

Chesterfield: 50+ Waxwings in Tescos car park   (K.Gould)
Pebley: Large bunting flock still present, containing 4 - 5 Corn Bunting, 20+ Chaffinch, 30+ Yellowhammer, 6+ Reed Bunting, 4+ Greenfinch etc.Also 3 Skylark. (T.Minskip)
Barlborough Park c220 mixed flock of Redwing and Fieldfare. Flock of c120 Wood Pigeon, with at least 2 Stock Dove, and 3 Common Buzzard overhead.

Loxley Valley: 2 drake Teal on Damflask "steps" at Stacey Bank; 6 Siskin at Old Wheel Dam; 1 Dipper on river by Fisheries; 2 Jay, 3 Treecreeper and 1Goldcrest on path between Loxley Road/Low Latlock Lane (P.Mella)
Blackburn Meadows: 2 Barn Owls hunting at 07.50, following 1 at 1530 previous day ((K.Bower)
Markham Pit Yard: 82 Golden Plover

Totley Brook: c24 birds Bushey Wood Road 12:00 (C.Measures)
 
Feeding on berries in tree in a front garden but dispersed as cars drew up alongside and Sparrowhawk flew overhead.
 
Similar number appeared again on Totley Brook Road, Dore 1445

Pebley: Large bunting flock with at least 8 Corn Buntings in stubbles around Pebley Inn carpark (pager report of 37 here might not be as unlikely as it sounds). (A.Deighton)

Sheffield: 1 Peregrine in the city centre at midday (S.Roddis), and again over St Georges Churchyard (S1) 2:30pm (G.Williams)
Totley: 2 Woodcock flushed near  Rifle Range, following 1 on 7/1 over pasture near Gillfield Wood (C.Measures)

Monday 12 January 
Blackburn Meadows: 1 Bittern came in from the east flew over the reserve then landed in the reedbed at 11.35. Other birds seen  3 Mute Swans, 6 Goosander, 2 Pochard,12 Snipe, 8 Coot and 5 Reed Bunting.   (K.Bower)
Oughtibridge: 15 waxwings by bridge (M.Oxlade)
Sheffield: c40 Waxwings Penistone Road opposite mecca Bingo at 8:30, 80+ there at lunchtime but no obvious food source (A.Deighton)

Saturday 10 January

Broomhead Reservoir: Gull Roost- 600+BH Gulls including one nearly in breeding plumage, 9 GBB Gulls, 68 Herring Gulls, 15 Common Gulls, 12 LBB Gulls. Also 3 Tufted Ducks and 7 male, 5 female Goosanders (A.Hill)
Ladybower Reservoir: Goldeneye 1 pair, Redwing 30, also 12  Fieldfare nearby (J.Kingsland)
Barlborough: – small flock of Waxwings on Clowne Road, 5 Bullfinch and mixed thrush flock (36 Redwing, 12 Blackbird, 2 Song Thrush and 1 Mistle Thrush) within village (T.Minskip)

Langsett Reservoir : Black Headed Gull – c.2500 left NE in several waves, Common Gull – c. 40, Mistle Thrush – party of 4 (D.Woodriff)

Langsett area: Black Headed Gull – c.3000 left N to NE from roost by 8.15am, Common Gull – c.50, Red Grouse – 28, Teal – 34, Redwing – 14, Fieldfare – 10, Bullfinch – 5 (D.Woodriff)
Chesterfield: Waxwing; 37 at junction of Loundsley Green Road and Linacre Road (R.Blagden)
Shillito Woods: smart male Hen Harrier quartering local moors from 13:00 for at least 15 minutes, then drifted east. Earlier in day female Hen Harrier seen same area (not by me)(T.Minskip)
