Oystercatcher

The number of Oystercatcher records has increased quite dramatically since the early 1980's when the species started to colonise inland breeding sites, especially at the gravel extraction pits in the Trent valley. It can be seen at virtually any time of year, but especially at migration times in May and August. Thrybergh CP, Middleton Moor and Redmires are amongst the best localities.
