Common Buzzard

Common Buzzard has become a less unexpected sight in the Sheffield area. With the species making a comeback in many areas of England, it is no longer just a rare winter visitor to remote moorlands. It can now be seen more regularly from more accessible places, especially in spring, late summer and autumn when there are regular reports from well-watched localities such as Redmires, RVCP, Upper Derwentdale and Middleton Moor. Although Common Buzzard now breeds in the area, true numbers are difficult to assess  Last updated 6th July 2003
